Can you use Serato with CDJs?
Our flagship multi player, the CDJ-3000, is now compatible with the USB-HID*¹ control feature of the DJ application Serato DJ Pro. This comes under the Pioneer DJ Certification Program*².
Do CDJ 2000 work with Serato?

Do CDJs have a sync button?

What is HID mode? You have the option of using HID mode in Serato DJ Pro with supported devices, which allows you to control the virtual deck (when set to INT mode) via MIDI sent directly from the CDJ/Media player, no control CDs are required.
Do you need a laptop with CDJs?
That said, the latest CD decks include USB inputs allowing you to put your music collection on a USB stick and plug them directly into the decks. Which removes the need for a laptop in the DJ booth. However, you would still need a computer to organize and put your music library on a USB stick in the first place.

Why do DJs not use beat sync?

How does Serato DJ work with CDJs?
For it to work the CDJs or turntables need to have a control signal loaded. The control signal is a long high pitched frequency sound. This frequency changes pitch as you adjust the pitch or tempo controls which in turn tells Serato DJ which speed to play the currently loaded track.
How do I connect my mixer to Serato DJ?
Start Serato DJ, go to the Setup screen and click on the Audio tab. Configure the control source selection to match the mixer inputs you are using (CD/Line). For some hardware this is done in an external driver panel and not in Serato DJ: consult the user manual for your hardware if you’re having a bit of trouble figuring this out.

How do I get Back in control of my Serato DJ?
To get back in control just restart your control signal and Serato DJ knows to turn the software back into relative mode. This bypasses the Serato DJ software and allows you to play tracks as normal from a USB, CD or vinyl on the respective player.
