Can Android and iOS play Asphalt 8 together?
There isn’t cross-platform for Android and iOS. So unfortunately it looks like Gameloft haven’t included cross-platform multi-player in Asphalt 8, so you and your friend won’t be able to play against each other.
Why is my Asphalt 8 not working?

Get Asphalt 8 on all Phones you want to play on. Make a WiFi Hotspot from a single phone and connect all phones to that network or connect to a single wifi network. Now, in asphalt 8 select the local multiplayer option.
