Where do you fly into if you want to go to AirVenture Oshkosh?
Most attendees do not fly themselves or ride in light aircraft to the show. They either drive or fly the airlines into nearby Appleton, Green Bay, or the larger terminal at General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee, about 90 miles south of Oshkosh.

Is Oshkosh the busiest airport in the world?
Every July for a week, Oshkosh’s Wittman Regional Airport becomes the busiest airfield in the world. Last year, EAA AirVentures Oshkosh, as the fly-in is officially known, attracted 500,000 visitors and 10,000 planes ranging from small, home-built aircraft to a giant Airbus A380.

Why is AirVenture in Oshkosh?
Aviation legend Steve Wittman, who had been an EAA member since the association’s founding in 1953, suggested the airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Oshkosh featured acreage surrounding the airport to handle the annual influx of airplanes, vehicles and tents.
