What is Hume Lake?
Hume Lake is a beautiful mountain lake within Sequoia National forest. It’s nestled in the Sierra Nevada Mountains at an elevation of 5200 feet. Surrounded by towering Sequoia and Jeffrey Pines, the lake is a popular destination for those visiting either Sequoia or Kings Canyon National Parks.

Hume Lake is an 87-acre lake formed by a unique multiple arch dam, constructed in 1908. Built to support a large, commercial logging operation, the lake supplied water to the longest lumber flume transporting logs to the Central Valley.

Passenger ages or entrance passes do not affect the price. The charge for vehicles with a seating capacity of 1-6 passengers is $25 plus $10 per person.
Does Hume Lake have cell service?
There is no cell phone service, so tell your boss not to call you when you’re there. However, they had wireless at the camp, so if you HAD to answer e-mails, you could do that. We took a nice walk around the lake (about 3 miles), and it was absolutely beautiful. Make sure you bring your camera!
Is Hume Lake private?
While Hume Lake Christian Camps are on a privately owned tract at the southwest tip, you can find a gas station, a store, and boat rentals there.
Can dogs swim in Hume Lake?
