Do trim tabs need anodes?

Proper placement of trim tabs will ensure optimum performance. Trim tabs should follow the “V” at the junction of the transom and the bottom of the boat. For maximum side to side control, trim tabs are generally mounted 3-4″ from the chine and run towards the keel.
Should trim tabs be up or down?
When running into the waves you’ll want to trim the bow down so the sharp point of the bow can cleave the waves. This provides the most comfortable ride and minimizes stress on the boat (and passengers). In a following sea the tabs should be fully retracted for maximum steering response.

We want to adjust the tab in the direction that the boat is pulling, to help compensate. So, if your boat is pulling to the right, then we want to spin the trim tab to the right. This will create a little force against the engine, pushing it in the opposite direction that the prop is trying to turn the engine.
