Why are my irons going high and short?

Why have I suddenly lost distance with my irons?
Member. In general it’s just poor contact. You can hit what feels like a solid shots but not have enough forward shaft lean and ended up hitting the ball at the bottom of your swing and sends them up high loosing penetrating trajectory. Sometimes playing the ball an inch or so too far forward would do that too.
How do I know if my irons are too short?

Why are my irons ballooning?
Ballooning is caused by too much backspin, robbing your drives of both carry distance and roll. It’s especially problematic playing into the wind, which causes the ball to spin even more. If you notice a ballooning pattern in your tee shots, your equipment could be the issue.
